Pre-tax profits at the Irish arm of Gate Gourmet, which provides meals to airline passengers, last year dipped by 26pc to €760,418.

The decline in pre-tax profits at the Swiss-owned firm came in spite of the company increasing revenues by 11pc in the 12 months to the end of December 31, 2013. Numbers employed by the firm last year declined from 137 to 133, with staff costs going up from €4.36m to €4.4m.

The firm is engaged mainly in food manufacture and in-flight catering facilities at Dublin Airport.
