Bride-to-be Lisa Cannon: 'I'm going for a tavern wench look for my hen'
TV3's Lisa Cannon is due to wed her rugby player beau Richard Keatley in romantic Florence in September, and the presenter plans on making the most of the run-up to her wedding.
Bubbly Lisa will be joined by her close pals for a medieval-themed hen weekend in Galway.
In true hen party style, she will be dressing up - but not in the traditional white veil.
"I think I'm going to go with a tavern wench look," she said laughing.
"It'll be great. As long as I belly-laugh all weekend then I'll be happy, and knowing my friends I will."
Lisa's Xpose colleagues also have something up their sleeve.
"I'm having a 'sten party' with the Xpose crew. Peter O'Riordan is part of the team now so we are having a stag and a hen night out combined.
"They're sorting it all out. They want to take me out and do something wild and fun.
"I'm hoping that they'll dress me up in something fun, not something nasty. I'm sure that they'll think of something hilarious for me.
"I'm all aboard - with fingers crossed."
Lisa is no stranger to dressing up, and is up for the challenge of two fancy-dress hens.
"Over the years in Xpose I've dressed up as Buzz Lightyear, in Star Wars costumes and as Bosco," she said.
But the fun won't stop there for the bride-to-be.
"I'm going up to Belfast then for another one with my family and a couple of my friends from the UK," she said.
"We'll probably do afternoon tea at the Merchant - or something a little bit more classy!
"I'm not having three hens as such, but I couldn't possibly meet up with everyone at once.
"Together, it'll be a little bit of wildness, a little bit of madness and a little bit of elegance.
"It's important to have fun when you are planning so much, and we're going to have fun."
Lucky Lisa had a chance to dress-up for a VIP bridal shoot recently and had a ball exploring different styles.
Although she has yet to settle on a dress for her big day, the 35-year-old hinted to the Diary that there could be some costume changes on the day.
