BOSI staff set to strike
BANK of Scotland (Ireland) staff are preparing to strike over a lack of clarity regarding the winding down of operations here.
The 600 staff remaining at the bank voted for industrial action over what the UNITE union called the failure of management to provide clarity on the establishment of a separate company to handle the winding down.
"The extent of the industrial action will be determined over the coming days," said UNITE official Brian Gallagher following the ballot.
The union said that they would make themselves open for negotiation, but if no agreement is reached they will commence industrial action on Wednesday, October 20.
