Bono and boys hit the pub with Shane for post-gig party

Rockers U2 were joined by Shane MacGowan as they partied into the small hours following their sell-out show in Dublin.

Bono and co took time out after their second gig in the 3Arena to enjoy the nightlife in their hometown.

The band were joined by friends in O'Donoghue's bar on Merrion Row after the gig on Tuesday night.

The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan celebrated the band's homecoming in his first public appearance since breaking his pelvis in August.

The 57-year-old was in a wheelchair due to his injuries, but it gave him a chance to show off his new teeth ahead of his Sky Arts documentary.

Shane MacGowan: A Wreck Reborn will be broadcast over the Christmas period on the station and will chronicle his dental transformation.

Despite the late-night party U2 were fresh-faced on Wednesday morning for a meeting with Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

The Edge and Adam Clayton meet him to discuss their Music Generation project.

The scheme, co-funded by the band, aims to "transform" young peoples' lives through access to music education.

The Fine Gael leader tweeted that it was "great to have U2 back in town" after the meeting.
