Bomb found at city apartments

THE army bomb disposal team carried out a controlled explosion on a viable pipe bomb which was discovered outside a south Dublin apartment block last night.

The viable improvised device was found in a bag at a doorway of the Hazelgrove Court apartment complex shortly after 8pm.

A number of apartments had to be evacuated while the army carried out an assessment of the bomb.
