It's all systems go for Dublin Zoo as staff prepare for the arrival of a baby gorilla next month.

Over the past year there have been two baby elephants, two baby giraffes, one rare white baby rhino and a baby sealion born at the zoo.

"It's been particularly noticeable because they've been large babies," said Veronica Chrisp, Marketing Manager at Dublin Zoo.

Next to add to the baby boom will be the arrival of a baby gorilla in August. "We're hopeful that everything will be okay," said Veronica.

As the animal kingdom's population increases, so too does that of its visitors. Animal lovers from all around the country are flocking to see the new additions.
