Amy Huberman's in the money - firm earns €100k profits
Style icon, actor, writer and the face of two successful Irish businesses, Amy Huberman is profiting handsomely from her rich array of talents.
The first set of accounts for Amy's company show that the firm recorded pre-tax profits of almost €100,000 in its first year in operation. according to filings just lodged with the Companies Office, pre-tax profits at ASM Entertainment in the 14 months to the end of last August total €95,123.
The accounts show that after a corporation tax bill of €11,890, the firm's post-tax profits total €83,224. Amy set up the company in late May 2013. At the end of August last year, the firm had a cash pile of €99, 757. One half of Ireland's best known couples through her marriage to rugby legend Brian O'Driscoll, Amy owns 100pc of the firm, while her father Harold, sits on the board.
The accounts show that the firm achieved the profit after paying its directors a total of €100, 605 last year.
According to documents lodged, some of the objectives of Amy's firm are to carry on business in the areas of media, acting and the arts and to also act as representative for companies both domestic and internationally.
All of that is no mean feat for a mother of two young children who also manages to keep her near 250,000 followers on Twitter regularly entertained with her wry observations on life.
Companies Office documents show that the combined profits of the main firms owned by Amy and Brian O'Driscoll total €3.62m. O'Driscoll retired from rugby last year, but his main firm has amassed accumulated profits of €3.52m to the end of August 2013 from his stellar career.
In her own business career, Amy is profiting from lucrative deals with Newbridge Silverware and shoe firm, Buddha Brand. The Dubliner became the face of Newbridge Silverware in January 2013 while her partnership with the Co Monaghan Buddha Brand has proven to be a real winner.
The most recent accounts for the show firm behind Amy's Bourbon line show that Buddha Brand accumulated profits increased by €465, 036 to €385, 382 to €850, 468 in the 12 months to the end of January 31, 2014. The massive leap in profits at Buddha Brand Industry Lts takes in ten months of sales of Ms Huberman's first shoe collection which was launched in April 2013.
Ms Huberman debuted on the Irish retail scene with the design of her American Beauty leather ankle boot and in April 2013, the actor and author launched her first 15 style collection.
The collections now extend to over 40 different style ranging in price from €79.99 to €129.99.
