American Airlines parent AMR Corp cuts 13,000 jobs
THE parent of bankrupt American Airlines, AMR Corp, wants to slash 13,000 jobs and terminate employee pension plans.
Executives are planning to reduce operating expenses by more than $2bn annually.
All work groups will have total costs reduced by 20pc, including management. AMR says it suffers from higher labour costs than its peers.
