65 jobs for Waterford

A technology start-up is planning to fill 65 new software jobs in Tramore, Co Waterford.

Three-year-old Nearform says the jobs for software developers and designers will bring its workforce to 100, and are due to strong demand for its software design services.

The company, founded by Waterford locals Cian O Maidin and Richard Rodger, has landed contracts with Conde Nast, Universal, DPD UK and Permanent TSB. The new staff will be recruited over the next 18 months.

The company has opted to stay in Waterford despite its clients being mainly abroad, Mr Rodger said.
