16 new jobs at Waldner as turnover set for €8m

LABORATORY furniture company Waldner Ireland is planning to expand its workforce by 16 this year as it expects an €8m turnover.

The German company Waldner GmbH, which employs over 1,000 worldwide, has recently expanded into the Irish market.

Waldner Ireland supply Genzyme, ISPEN, University College Cork, Dublin City University and Pfizer have installed a €3m lab with the State and Agricultural Laboratories.

Noel Hodgins, managing director of Waldner Ireland, said Ireland is now being hailed as the pharmaceutical centre of the world.

"In recent years, Ireland has been a place of excellence in science and innovation," he said.
