1,200 jobs saved in 2014

EXAMINERSHIP

MORE than 1,200 jobs were saved in the first half of the year via examinership, with 331 of those in small and medium enterprises.

The six firms which successfully exited examinership include The Magpie Inn, Phoenix Industrial Pipeline, Coogan Agricultural and General Hardware Ltd, Eldermade II Ltd, Weslin Construction Ltd and Elvery's, according to the latest Hughes Blake Examinership Index.

The firms in question operate across a range of sectors including hospitality, retail and construction.

Neil Hughes, Managing Partner of Hughes Blake Chartered Accountants, while those were some of the sectors worst hit in the course of the recession, the situation is improving.
