Wednesday November 25 2009
RTE has invested €4.5m in deploying the digital microwave network which is required to implement the digital terrestrial television network.
The system will deliver high-speed resilient communications linking 24 radio and television broadcast high sites with studios in Donnybrook, Cork, Limerick, Sligo and Donegal.
RTE Networks has awarded the contract to EMR Integrated Solutions.
The network also provides the backbone for the transmission of all existing national radio and television channels for RTE and the commercial stations, including TG4, TV3 and Today FM.
