It's been less than a year since presenter Karen Koster became a mum and she's already feeling broody again.

The Xposé star gave birth to son Finn on New Year's Eve and she told the Herald that she and her businessman husband John McGuire are so besotted with their new arrival that they're already planning on expanding their family.

"We'd love another kid. We're completely obsessed with Finn. They say you'll never know the unconditional love you'll have for your baby and it's tenfold," she told the Herald.

"John is pretty close in age to all his siblings and there's a bit of a gap between me and my sister, so I think it probably works out better if your brother or sister is close in age to you."

While another baby might be in the pipeline for Karen, at the moment she's looking forward to making her comeback on Xposé next week after taking the last 10 months off for maternity leave.

"I'm going to give myself a bit of a break and get back to work before I start making baby plans," she said.

Although being a new parent brings out a protective side in many people, Karen said there's also a light-hearted side to having a baby.

"We're having so much fun with Finn. He brings out the fun side in John and I because you just become ridiculous and will do anything to get a laugh," she said.

The petite blonde has been unveiled as a new ambassador for CMRF Crumlin Children's Hospital and was in the Dublin hospital yesterday (inset) to visit patients and their parents.

Level

"It's been such an eye-opener. I've been to Crumlin loads for filming, but once you become a mum you really see everything on a whole new level. I've been in a heap just looking at the outpatients department," she said.
