"I think it depends on the type of job you're in to be honest but I've personally never come across a pay gap between male and female workers and I've worked in a few different industries."

Do you think women are discriminated when it comes to pay?

"It's never something that I've focussed on. However, I've always been happy with my rates of pay but if I wasn't,
I'd probably quiz my
co-workers about what they were earning."

"Statistics show that when women marry and have
children, and then go back to work that they are paid less than their male counterparts. I think that's one of the biggest issues that need to be tackled, you can see it in the Dáil where we have a pub but no crèche."

"I've never worked in a job where a male co-worker got paid more than me and, in terms of promotions, women get the job just as often as the guys do."

"I don't think the gap in pay between men and women is as big as it used to be, but I'd imagine that in corporate
companies, men are probably paid more. However, I don't think it'll really take 75 years for women to get equal pay for doing the same job as men."

"I've never experienced
unequal pay due to my gender but when I worked at a fast-food restaurant older people got paid more and you got paid more depending on how long you were with the company but I've never experienced guys getting paid more than me for doing the same job."

"My pay is down since the
beginning of the recession but in terms of un-equal pay because of gender, I've never experienced it."

"I'd say men in middle to top management positions get paid more. I think there should definitely be more incentives for women to return to work after they have children
including better paternity leave, so there is better gender balance at management level."
