Model Danielle Lloyd has revealed she was so devastated by the end of her marriage to footballer Jamie O’Hara that she ended up on sleeping pills and antidepressants.

The TV presenter, who has three sons with the footballer, discovered he had cheated on her when a story appeared in a newspaper.

She told Hello! magazine: “I went to see the doctor and he put me on antidepressants and quite strong sleeping pills.

“I had to be strong for the sake of my boys. Everything I do now is for the boys. They’re the only things that have been keeping me going over the past year.”

The former Miss Great Britain fled to Dubai and ended their relationship when it emerged he had cheated on her more than once.

“While I was away, another story came out about another girl in LA and then Jamie was being photographed coming out of nightclubs, smashed,” she said.

“I couldn’t understand why he was doing it. It was like he was someone I didn’t know any more. His behaviour was erratic. I told him to be gone by the time I got back from Dubai.”

She said she knew she “couldn’t go back” after the details of his affairs emerged, adding: “It’s just embarrassing and degrading, not just to me but to the kids as well. I know Jamie does love his family but I know there is no going back. I’ve forgiven him but I can’t forget what he did.”

Lloyd said she has also started seeing a man, Tom Jimson, who she met in Dubai.

“I’ve been out there a couple of times to see him and he’s coming here to see me,” she said.

“It’s a long-distance relationship and I’m just going with the flow because I have a massive guard up with anyone I meet now. But we get on really well and he’s like a friend, too. It’s very easy. We’ll see what happens.”
