Week 12: Who you train with might be your missing fitness link

If you want to walk, jog or run with people of similar ability, would like to meet others in your area with the same goals, or are looking for the support of a structured training group, then Elverys Sports Get Fit Group (GFG) is perfect for you!

It's free and you can sign up either in-store at Elverys Sports Fonthill, Dublin, or online at http://elverysblog.com/2015/03/20/getfitgroup/.

Meanwhile, if you are located in Galway, you can sign up for Elverys Sports in Galway Retail Park, Headford Road, Galway, online only.

After the launch night, the groups will meet at Elverys Sports, Fonthill, and the Club House at Nimmo's Pier, Galway.

Each session will start with the GFG leaders educating participants on specific topics, such as breathing, posture, footwear and apparel. To add to this, there will be continued support from GFG leaders who can be found in-store. Elverys staff members will provide advice, guidance and motivation throughout the sessions and ensure all participants are looked after.

1. Elverys Sports, Fonthill Road Industrial Estate, Fonthill, Dublin 22

2. Nimmo's Pier, Galway.

Groups: Available in both locations will be two groups:

1. Walking.

2. Jogging/running.

Dates: Every Wednesday until May 20/27 (TBC).

Times: Each session is approximately 60 minutes in duration.

1. Fonthill, Dublin: 6.30-7.30pm

2. Nimmo's Pier, Galway: 7-8pm.

What does a typical session

look like?

• Welcome message (5mins)

• Information/advice on a specific topic (5-10mins)

• Warm-up exercises (10mins)

• Pre-determined walk/jog/run plan (20-25mins)

• Cool-down exercises (10mins)
