Q Do you go to the gym or classes?
A Yeah. I enjoy lasagne, hence me having to go to the gym. I just do weights and cardio in the gym about three times a week.
I just took up reformer Pilates. I put my shoulder out of alignment and my chiropractor told me "it's just muscular, what you need to do is some form of Pilates". There is a place in Stillorgan called Platinum Pilates and they are brilliant and I go up there. I try and do that once or twice a week if I can. It has fixed my shoulder. It's brilliant. It's good for posture. It's very popular with the All Blacks rugby players.
Q Do you take vitamins or supplements?
A I take the odd protein shake after the gym but I don't really get taking vitamins. I eat food for vitamins; tablets don't do it for me.
Q Have you ever been in hospital?
A No, I have never been in hospital -- touch wood.
Q What was your worst illness?
A Man flu -- but in my defence, it was a really bad dose! I had flu last November. I just got a dose and I couldn't move. I never had proper flu before. I couldn't get out of the bed. It knocked me for six. It lasted about five days or a week. It was horrible.
Q What is your favourite cure if you are sick?
A Hot whiskey . . . pretty much for anything! I haven't had a bad episode of migraine in about two years. I don't get migraines any more but I had to give up chocolate, though. That was a trigger for me. They say cheese is a trigger for some, but I eat about a block of cheese a day.
Q Would you get your five a day -- fruit and veg?
A Yeah but only because my missus makes me. She's very healthy!
Q Any vices?
A How long have you got?!
Q Ever dieted?
A Since I hit my 30s, I've had to watch what I eat but I don't diet. I do try and eat healthily for six days a week. You have to change the way you eat, diets are fads.
Q Any family ailments?
A Health-wise we're all good.
