Facial that's worth splashing the cash

A facial isn't normally something you'd consider getting on the day of a big do but I'd heard about the JetPeel Facial at Therapie Clinics nationwide being just the man for that job -- promising 'wow-factor, fresher, more radiant and healthier-looking skin' and wanted to try it out. The good news is that it does work, I've decent enough skin but it was practically glowing when I left the Molesworth Street premises.

It works by spraying a high-pressure saline solution on the face, neck and decolletage to rid the skin of toxins. This exfoliates and cleanses the skin, eradicating dead cells.

The jet stream dramatically moisturises and hydrates the skin and infuses oxygen deep into the dermis, which recharges and revitalises the cells, helping your skin produce new collagen, which is necessary for a truly rejuvenated look. A personalised blend of pure concentrated vitamins is then applied for an added boost.

The bad news is it's €120 for one, or three for two in January-- but it could make a great gift for someone special if you have the cash.

LAST-MINUTE GIFTS

Having spent the last few Christmas Eves bent over my gifts parcelling them until the wee hours, I decided that this year would be different. And it is. I have become a Christmas chaos-free zone. Of course, this military approach to shopping and parcelling is not for everyone so for any readers who have left it all until the last minute the good news is that Littlewoods Ireland can make things easy for you, even at this late date.

Order by 8pm on December 19 and your goodies will be delivered to your door in time for the big day. There's 40,000 products to choose from, pictured are some of my favourites (www.littlewoodsireland.ie).

1: Fossil rose gold bracelet ladies' watch, €139

2: ION Discover DJ Pro, €244

3: Just Sheepskin men's Garrick slippers, €69

4: Elizabeth Arden beauty blockbuster, €59
