All us new mums feel pressure to lose weight

ACTRESS Tara Leniston has hit back at celebrity mums for shedding their baby weight too quickly despite snapping back into shape herself.

The mum-of-one admitted she has been putting herself under pressure to lose her post pregnancy pounds. And it doesn't help seeing superskinny new mums such as Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba and Giselle.

"Almost all of them are far skinnier now than before their babies were born.

"I think something happens to a woman's brain after having a baby, her self-image gets altered. We need to be a kinder to ourselves," she said.

But the Meet Me In Miami star, who gave birth to her first baby boy Dylan James in February, said she is not completely happy with her own body since giving birth.

Despite sporting a super svelte figure that most childless women would adore, the 27-year-old said she still feels "huge".

"I am the first to admit I'm slightly obsessed with losing weight, especially since having DJ.

"I am always thinking about what I eat and trying to get in exercise.

"I'm not happy with my body, even though the scales say I am the same weight I was before I got pregnant. I still feel huge."

But Tara is fully aware that her view of herself is distorted.

"All of my friends who have had babies, look fab and slimmer than before they had the baby, but every one of them will say 'I need to lose more weight, look at my tummy'.

"Before I had DJ I wanted to slap them. Now I think the same thing about myself."
