TV presenter Fern Britton revealed that her five stone weight loss in 2006 was down to having a gastric band fitted.
Fellow TV personality Vanessa Feltz slimmed down from a size 24 to a size 14 after having gastric-band surgery, and loves showing off her new slimmed-down figure in fashionable clothes.
Reality-TV star Sharon Osbourne had gastric bypass surgery in 1999, and lost an estimated 100 pounds. In 2010 the former talent-show judge told People magazine she was considering having the surgery reversed.
Randy Jackson, one of the original American Idol judges, lost 113 pounds after gastric bypass surgery in 2003.
