Power couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West lead the charge at Time's Most Influential Gala

The reality star and rapper hit the red carpet for last night's Time 100 Most Influential People Gala in New York.

For their red carpet appearance, Kim opted for a dramatic gothic style gown with a plunging neckline, wearing her hair in a slicked back bun, while her husband opted for a navy velvet suit.

He later changed into a more Yeezy friendly ensemble on stage as he performed in a taupe bomber jacket,

Kim tweeted her excitement at attending the bash, saying she was thrilled to have met fellow honorees, country singers Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

"I met Faith Hill & Tim McGraw tonight!!!!! They are seriously my fave couple & have been since high school! It made my night! #IFannedOut," she wrote.

The couple, who wed last May in Florence, Italy, were named on the prestigious list of the world's most influential people, comprising of power players from a number of disciplines.

As is custom in the piece, another influencer writes a short bio on the honoree, with Martha Stewart writing about Kim and her famous family: "The Kardashians are a totally modern construct. They are a blended family, of Armenian descent, with biracial pairings (Kim is married to Kanye West) and a reportedly transgender parent. They work hard, and they stick together through thick and thin.

"Are they indeed today’s Brady Bunch?"

Meanwhile, Kanye's profile, written by Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, said: "Kanye West would be the first person to tell you he belongs on this list. The dude doesn’t believe in false modesty, and he shouldn’t.'

"Kanye’s been playing the long game all along, and we’re only just beginning to see why."

Best Actress Oscar winner Julianne Moore, J.Crew boss Jenna Lyons, actresses Laverne Cox and Emma Watson were also pictured at the event.
