I ALWAYS think good hair and a decent jacket are the modern day equivalent of a bob and cloche hat.
This YAS jacket, €69.95 from Ranelagh's Bow and Pearl, caught my eye.
It hits the price mark and would also work well over jeans, dresses and combats. It's a piece you will literally wear until you can't anymore, because of its versatility.
The neutral base colour is perfect for summer, but the black piping detail gives it edge and a little bit of smarts.
If you get bored of any jacket or cardigan currently in your ownership, then try it on with a slim belt to cinch in the waist, or do the same with a nice scarf.
This update can work well on an item such as this because it has no buttons, but it also smartens up a zip-front jacket without too much effort.
What's lovely about this YAS item is that it's not too fitted, and one should always wear the world like a loose garment. The good hair is a little harder to get.
If summer-ising your look is on your mind then footwear is a must. Block heels are still quite popular and these tan sandals from Oasis in Clerys are very cool.
At €35, they hit a good price point and height-wise you can see yourself buzzing around town or running for a bus in them without too much bother, always a boon.
Much like the jacket, these can be worn with anything, including shorts, making them a good one to pack for the holidays
Ingrown hairs post-hair removal can happen, sucking some of the joy out of your newly smooth finish.
Lycon Ingrown-X-It, €21.50, is a gentle formula for the face and body that helps to minimise the appearance and discomfort of ingrown hairs and blemishes after waxing, shaving, electrolysis or depilatory creams.
Containing salicylic acid, lactic acid, allantoin and arnica, it mildly exfoliates and decongests.
Combining physical and chemical exfoliates, it can also help with keratosis pilaris - the bumps that form on the back of the arms and legs when dead skin cells block hair follicles.
It's available from Lycon Distribution Ireland: www.lycon.ie; email@example.com; tel:( 01) 293 8907.
