In a repeat of last year's decider, Larkin Community College and Coolock's Coláiste Dhúlaigh will contest next month's CDVEC SCC Bohemian Shield soccer final after successfully booking their places at last week's play-offs, which took place at the VEC Sports Grounds in Terenure.

As holders, Larkin will go into the final as slight favourites but Dhúlaigh certainly won't be there just to make up the numbers with a tight game predicted following a scoreless draw between the schools at last week's contest.

Larkin kicked-started the day with a comprehensive 5-0 win against Coláiste Eoin of Finglas, with Dane Moynihan scoring a hat-trick along with a goal apiece from Sean Gorman and Robert Courtney.

Goals in either half from Dhúlaigh captain Glen McCabe and Reese Sommerfield saw the Coolock school overcome Kylemore College in their opening fixture.

Both finalists locked horns in the next match, with Larkin piling on the early pressure as first-half efforts from Dhúlaigh's McCabe and Sommerfield that came close to breaking the deadlock.

A second-half header and shot from Moynihan fell wide of the target, with Larkin skipper Gareth Rock and Shane Hamilton keeping Dhúlaigh's strikeforce at bay as both teams settled for a share of the spoils.

Larkin then overcame Kylemore College 4-0 before booking their place in the final with an inspiring display against Plunket College, wherein Rock scored a hat-trick in their 7-0 win.

Goals from Dhúlaigh's Sommerfield, McCabe, Anthony Shoebridge and Gary Burke (Plunket's Drey Cahill scored a superb consolation goal) in their 4-1 win over the Fairview College meant they finished second to get a second bite at the cherry against Larkin.
