X Factor housemates caught looking very cosy

HORMONES were running high in the X Factor household as the young Irish contestants got up close and personal with their housemates.

Justin Bieber lookalike Niall Horan (16) from Mullingar was snapped getting cosy with Belle Amie singer Sophia Wardman (23).

The teen singer, who is tipped for the top along with his boyband One Direction, almost broke thousands of girls' hearts when he was pictured on the arm of the stunning blonde.

But the Twitter poster was quick to reassure fans that the pair were just close friends.

"They're like brothers and sisters before you guys get the wrong idea. We all are!"

Tallaght's own Rebecca Creighton (18) is also caught on camera messing around with some of the One Direction boys.

"Fighting in the kitchen -- Becca thinks she's won," the photographer reveals in the caption.

Earlier, Rebecca's dad Noel revealed how the two Irish contestants have struck up a close bond in the house, but said that the groups were like close siblings.

"Niall was at Rebecca's 21st," Noel said. "As soon as they qualified, Rebecca had her 21st in Lanigan's in the Belgard and Niall came over with her, Mary was there as well."

And it's been revealed that X Factor bosses have ramped up security measures to prevent any romantic liaisons within the secret house.

The contestants have been banned from using their own Twitter accounts and although Mary Byrne, Niall and Rebecca all had their own Twitter accounts, these have now been suspended.

Belle Amie's official tweeter explained: "For those asking why the contestants can't tweet, it's just for their own protection due to the amount of fake profiles.

"So yeah, the girls can't tweet no more but I'll be keeping you guys updated on their behalf."

Producers have also hired a security guard to keep the singers in check after hours.

In previous years there were rumours of romance between the contestants Diana Vickers and Eoghan Quigg, as well as Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs.
