The embarrassing row over the Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTAs) sunk even further today with TV3 set to boycott the event.
The station has already decided not to put forward any nominees to this year's IFTAs and will also offer no coverage of the event.
The hit show Xpose is set to be issued with a firm order from management not to cover the event which was launched in Dublin.
Hailed as the Irish Oscars, the bash at the Burlington Hotel on Saturday, February 14 is one of the glitziest events on the showbiz calender, with the guest list reading like a 'who's who' of the Irish media and entertainment world.
TV3 has decided not to put forward nominees as they feel it's unfairly biased against them, given that they haven't won anything in the past five years.
As proof of their conviction, a photoshoot with the Xpose team was organised at the same time as an IFTA press launch in the Shelbourne this morning.
A show insider said TV3 doesn't want to cover to an event that they feel is weighted in RTE's favour.
