Sile Seoige: Cancer left my voice at risk
She's one of the most recognisable faces on Irish television, but Sile Seoige has insisted that she's not a celebrity.
The broadcaster (35), who is currently starring in I, Keano at the Olympia Theatre, said that despite being well-known for her job, she doesn't feel that she is living a celebrity lifestyle.
"I don't live the life of celebrity at all," she said. "I'm very much a normal person leading a very private, normal life and I happen to do a job that has a public persona."
The presenter-turned- stage star revealed how she almost lost her singing voice after being diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2012.
She told the John Murray Show on RTE Radio 1: "With the surgeries there was a risk to my voice and now I'm getting to sing on stage in the Olympia and I'm living a brilliant life."
