RYAN Tubridy said he's back at his spiritual home of "Nerd FM", better known as RTE Radio One.

The Late Late host, who was yesterday attending Cork auditions for this year's Toy Show, said he's a better fit for the more mature channel than the chart music and youth-oriented 2FM.

"I love Radio One, it is the right place for me. I'm back on Nerd FM and I believe it is where I belong," he said.

Ryan also said that the 2015 Late Late Toy Show will be the best ever, but he was tight-lipped about this year's festive jumper.

"I think there is an emotional attachment to the Christmas jumper and its role in the Toy Show. But there are also Christmas suits, so I just don't know," he said.

"I think I am more like Arthur Christmas than Father Christmas."

Meanwhile, he gave his chat show rival and pal Ray D'Arcy an emphatic vote of confidence, saying his new Saturday night TV show will be a huge success.

Toughest

"I think it's really good," he said.

"Saturday night television is one of the toughest gigs in the business - I know because I've done that Saturday night slot.

"I like Ray's show. Remember, it is also very early days for him, he has only had two shows. I think it is great.

"I also sit just two or three seats away from him in the RTE Radio Centre. It is a bit like being back in school."
