No new Today FM show for Laura Whitmore
Laura Whitmore won’t be presenting her own show on Today FM, contrary to reports this weekend.
The Bray native (29) left MTV after seven years last week and speculation has been mounting as to what the popular presenter will do next.
It was reported that the fashionista was set for a 3pm slot every Sunday on Today FM but the station has since said that she won’t be joining them.
A Today FM spokesperson stated that there is “no truth to that story”.
It was also reported that Laura will be launching her own fashion line within the next year.
But she took to Twitter to say that it wasn’t happening just yet and to clarify that she hasn’t yet hit the big 3-0.
“I have not announced a fashion line. I’m also not 30,” she wrote on Twitter.
However, she did speak of how if she chose to do a fashion line she would have to be true to herself.
“I have been offered deals in the past and although it’s tempting to take the cheque I knew it wasn’t right to commit,” she said.
“You have to be honest with people, people know when you are being real or not and it was important for me to wait and make sure it was a true reflection of myself.”
Laura also spoke of her leaving MTV News in order to pursue other projects.
“I love working in MTV and I will stay with the station to work on other projects, but leaving the news team gives me more time to focus my energy elsewhere,” she told the Sunday Independent.
“There’s so much I still want to do. Fashion is just one of the things on my list.
“I will have a couple of TV projects too and hopefully I will get to travel more in the next year,” she added.
