Mairead Farrell: My husband makes me breakfast when I wake up at 5am
A NEW husband who makes you breakfast at 5am? Mairead Ronan has it all sewn up, it seems.
The glamorous mum-of-one has confessed that she is a fan of early nights due to her morning starts in Today FM.
Rising at 5am might sound gruelling to most but for Mairead it means she can be home in time to pick up her son Dara (8) from school.
"[It] sounds worse than it is, honestly. I just leave everything out the night before... then I have a quick shower and Louis hands me a bag with my breakfast and I'm off out," she said.
"He's an early riser anyway, so he's up every morning at the same time as me."
"I don't know if he's necessarily a romantic guy, he's just a really good solid guy - he doesn't think anything of it," she added.
Mairead wed her businessman husband in June in a low-key ceremony in Clonmel, Co Tipperary.
Former colleague Ray D'Arcy was among the celeb guests on the day.
Mairead's son Dara, from her previous relationship to Eamon Fitzpatrick, acted as best man.
Thanks to her move to the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show, she gets to spend more time with Dara during the week now, the presenter said.
"I'm home before he's even back from school every day so the guilt thing is not as there as much as it would be if I was working until five or six."
On top of her radio duties Mairead spends her weekends filming around the country for Ireland's Fittest Family.
It's a busy schedule for one woman and the broadcaster has joked that the nine o'clock news theme song is her signal to head to bed.
