Louise McSharry is set to return to 2fm in weeks
Broadcaster Louise McSharry has revealed she will be back on the airwaves on April 19.
The 2fm presenter was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma last August, and while she says she's still "not 100pc", she's looking forward to getting back to work.
"I don't want to create any false impression that when you finish your chemo you get your clear scan, then boom you're back to normal," she said.
"That's not the reality of the situation. I'm not 100pc. I'm still quite tired and that's going to stay with me for a while.
"But I'm ready to devote a few hours a day to proper work and I'm lucky the job isn't physically difficult.
"RTE have been incredible to me and so supportive."
The popular broadcaster has received strong support from her Montrose colleagues since she went public on her cancer battle.
"I'm really excited. I'm a little bit nervous just because I hope I remember how to do it," she said.
"I need to get my music hat on again because I've been really out of the loop.
"I actually found it quite difficult to think about work while I was off because I wanted to be there so I took an intentional step back."
The 31-year-old also said she was grateful to everyone who had been supportive of her throughout her treatment.
"I would like to say thank you to everyone online, and people who have sent me post and people who have made the effort to get in contact with me," she said.
"There are so many of them in Ireland and abroad who made the experience so much easier than it might have been."
Head of 2fm Dan Healy said he was thrilled by the news of Louise's return.
"We're delighted to welcome Louise back and we know that her listeners will be thrilled," he said.
Louise is also busy planning her wedding to fiance Gordon Spierin in August.
"We visited our venue over the weekend and we're so excited," she said.
"It's going to fly in - I feel like I can bank of being well in August and able to enjoy it properly."
