Louis Walsh may be set for a stint in Celebrity Jungle
Louis Walsh is keeping his options open with a trip to the jungle on the cards, as well as his much-rumoured return to The X Factor.
The former Westlife manager is reported to be in secret talks with ITV bosses about a stint on I'm a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here.
His trip to Australia could only happen if he declined an invitation to return to the talent show.
Recent speculation focused on whether Walsh (63) would take up a place as a fifth judge on the X Factor panel.
He would sit apart and offer impartial commentary on performers, according to reports.
His departure from the show, which saw him replaced by Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, has coincided with a slump in ratings.
The X Factor has lost a million viewers compared with last year.
Mayo man Walsh confirmed that he had discussed a return to the show with Simon Cowell and said it was a "possibility".
"Simon said that door was open to me months ago," he said. "There is a possibility that I might end up on the show, but I don't know for definite. I'd like to - I'm available."
If he opts to leave The X Factor behind, we may still be seeing him on our screens very soon.
A source told the Sunday World that the music mogul had been offered a place on I'm a Celebrity.
"He has also said he would never join the jungle, but he's reconsidered it and he's looking at the positive aspects," the insider said.
If he were to join hosts Ant and Dec in the jungle he would be following in the footsteps of Irish model Nadia Forde.
The Clontarf native lasted 16 days in the tough reality TV camp.
