Jennifer Maguire gives birth to a baby girl
RTE presenter Jennifer Maguire has welcomed her first child into the world.
The Breakfast Republic host, who wed long-term partner Lau Zamparelli last summer, gave birth last night to a girl.
Florence Myra weighed in at a healthy 8lb 4oz and both mother and baby are doing well.
The happy couple said they are overjoyed with the new arrival.
Jennifer’s Breakfast Republic co-stars Bernard O’Shea and Keith Walsh extended their best wishes to the new mum in their own unique way.
“We’re both delighted for Jennifer on the birth of baby Florence, although Bernard is very disappointed to hear it’s not his! To celebrate, we’ve given Jen the day off,” they said.
The popular presenter was busy working on her radio show and RTE TV projects past her due date.
The 32-year-old also revealed that she was planning on making the most of her time with her husband before the new arrival.
“I’m trying to use this time to tie up loose ends and spend as much time being a couple before it becomes a threesome. That is always the most common complaint, isn’t it,” she said.
“You just don’t have that precious time together any more. So we are making it our mission to go out and spend as much time together as possible.
“In fact, I think he’s probably sick of me at this stage.”
Jennifer said she tried to remain upbeat throughout her pregnancy and planned on having a hypno-birth.
“I’m staying positive and remembering we were built to do this,” she said.
“Fear is a pregnant woman’s worst enemy, so getting rid of that through hypnobirthing was important for me.”
Although Jennifer watched home birthing videos, she said it wasn’t on her wish list.
“I wouldn’t like to have to clean up after all that,” she joked.
The UK Apprentice star surprised many fans by announcing that she is planning on being back at work at RTE only 10 weeks after giving birth.
