Daniel O’Donnell is not happy with his dance for this weekend’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Donegal crooner will perform the Charleston, to Let’s Misbehave by Cole Porter, with his partner Kristina Rihanoff on Saturday night.

Earlier this week, the 53-year-old said he wasn’t impressed by the dance chosen for him.

“I can’t say what it is, but it’s the dance I didn’t want. It’s a tough one,” he said.

“It’s not the cha-cha, but it will be very tough.

“I can’t say what it is. I’m hoping they put a bit of an Irish theme into it again.”

Speaking to Highland Radio, Daniel also revealed he was so nervous before his first dance last weekend that he forgot who his partner was.

“I didn’t know what I was doing and I didn’t know who Kristina was for a minute,” he said.

“My mind just went and the nerves got to me.

“I’m just hoping I’m not going to be as nervous again this weekend.”

Daniel is also battling a cold at the moment and hopes he’ll have gotten rid of it by the weekend.

“I’m starting to take medication for it, but the show has to go on,” he said.

“As long as it doesn’t go into the feet. If I get foot and mouth, I’m finished.”

Scandal

Meanwhile, controversial judge Craig Revel Horwood claimed Kristina was given Daniel as a partner because BBC bosses didn’t want another scandal on their hands.

Kristina has had personal relationships with two of her celebrity partners on the show, first with boxer Joe Calzaghe and then rugby star Ben Cohen, who she is currently dating.

“When she first got paired with him I think she was gutted,” Horwood said.

“But it was rather obvious she wasn’t going to get a hot, young celeb after everything that has happened.

“It’s natural to fall in love with your dance partner when you’re spending so much time together, and Kristina’s managed it a few times.

“But somehow I don’t think that will be the case this time around,” he added.

Daniel scored an impressive 24 out of 40 for his waltz last week, but he will be up against the public vote for the first time this weekend.
