Former Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding set to star in Corrie
Former Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding will be bringing something new to the cobbles of Coronation Street.
The 33-year-old singer and actress is set to make a guest appearance in the soap this summer as a feisty new character who will clash with Corrie superbitch Tracy Barlow, played by Kate Ford.
"I'm extremely excited to be joining Coronation Street. As a fan of the show it is a huge honour for me to join the cast. I can't wait to get started," Harding said.
Details of her storyline are being kept secret, but she begins filming next month and will appear in four episodes.
Harding's previous acting credits include roles in the St Trinian's films, appearing opposite Dominic Cooper in BBC drama Freefall and playing one of EastEnders star Danny Dyer's wives in the comedy Run For Your Wife.
"Sarah is proving to be a gifted and exciting actor and I'm absolutely delighted to have her on board," said Corrie producer Stuart Blackburn.
"The viewers are in for a treat as her character will be right at the heart of a massive new story for the Barlows."
