Emma hits right note as Denise puts UK failure behind her
She didn't make it through on The Voice UK but Manchester lass Denise Morgan was good enough to make it to the live shows here.
Denise made it to the battle stages on Tom Jones' team last year but lost out to the other contestant.
Last night, she was pitched against Bray woman Hannah Stockwell-Quinn to sing No Rain by Blind Melon and while Bressie was impressed with both of them, he thought Denise had more potential.
Meanwhile, Dubliner Emma Humber also made it through to the live shows on Bressie's team when she battled fellow 19-year-old Chloe Wilders last night.
However, they'll face each other again in the live shows, which start next Sunday, as Una Foden decided to steal Chloe for her team after commenting that she found her performance "refreshing".
Friendship was tested when Una paired best friends John Sheehy and Pat Fitz together, but all was well as Kian decided to steal Pat for his team.
Una later paired Evan Cotter from Limerick with Dubliner Mark Joyce and wanted them to sing Superheroes by the Script for an uptempo performance.
But after a disastrous day of rehearsals Una decided she needed to change the song and chose Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles instead. There was no joy for Dubliner Mark as Una thought Evan's vocal was more impressive.
Una (32) was not the only one struggling when it came to song choice as Kian Egan's acts were not impressed by his track either.
He paired part-time farmer Colm Conlan (20) with music student Jo Petit (32) to sing Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus.
The boys tried to put their own spin on it but Kian wasn't happy on the second day of boot camp and had to get them to change the arrangement.
Despite not being fond of Kian's song choice, the other judges enjoyed their performance and Colm made it through to the live shows.
