Dublin model Amber Jean Rowan tipped to make small screen breakthrough with new US series

From the catwalk to the television set, Dublin beauty Amber Jean Rowan appears to have made the transition from model to actress as she shoots a major new series for a US channel.

The Diary can reveal the pretty blonde, who first shot to attention as a teenager when she competed in RTE series The Model Agent back in 2009, has landed a role in ABC drama pilot Guilt – which is inspired by the notorious Amanda Knox murder trial.

Amber is currently shooting the series in Budapest alongside a star-studded cast, including Titanic star Billy Zane, Spartacus: War of The Damned’s Katrina Law and The Syndicate’s Daisy Head – who will play American girl Grace, accused of murder after her roommate is found dead.

According to industry site Variety, the show will chronicle the events of Grace’s trial following the murder, with Zane and Law both playing attorneys in the case.

While it is unknown what role Amber Jean will play in the series, it will undoubtedly be a boost to the aspiring screen star’s career.

Roles

The Clontarf beauty previously featured in Irish films The O’Briens and How to Be Happy – which also starred Brian Gleeson – and counts roles in successful small screen series Vikings and Ripper Street on her resume.

But for Amber, who is signed to Morgan the Agency, it’s not just the  model’s acting career that appears to be looking up.

Her love life is also taking off as Amber is loved-up with British actor Sol Heras – best known for playing Ryan Connor  in ITV’s long-running soap Coronation Street.

The pair have been dating for over a year and even acted together in 2014 historical flick Vikings: The Berserkers.

And it looks as though the couple that act together stay together as Amber and Sol are practically inseparable, with Sol by Amber’s side as she films Guilt in the Hungarian capital.

While Amber may be best known in Ireland for her modelling talents, she’s been pursuing her acting dream for the past four years.

Speaking to the Diary previously, she admitted she was fighting fit after playing young girl Aldan in Vikings: The Berserkers.

“I was in such good shape afterwards, there was so much running around fields in Wales, fight scenes and everything,” she said.
