Bosses' knives are out for Nigella's US show as she gets the chop
NIGELLA Lawson's American dream has reportedly come to an end as TV bosses plan to pull the plug on her show The Taste.
The celebrity chef (55) initially charmed audiences stateside with her saucy double entendres on the reality show.
However, executives at ABC have reportedly made the decision to axe it over falling ratings. Viewing figures have halved since it hit screens in 2013, dropping from 5.8m to 2.7m.
An ABC spokesperson said that no "official decision" has been made yet about the fate of The Taste.
It was reported that staff have been told to look for other work.
The Taste, unlike its BBC rival Masterchef, pits amateurs against professionals and was not recommissioned after one season in the UK.
It's believed Nigella was being paid €225,000 per episode for the US version of the show.
