Amanda Byram gets 'dream job' with the IFTA TV awards

AMANDA Byram will host the television awards ceremony of the Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) later this month.

IFTA's film and drama awards were already held in May this year.

The decision to hold the TV awards at a later date and break the once annual event into two occasions arose following the 2014 ceremony, hosted by Laura Whitmore and Simon Delaney.

Speaking of the ceremony, Amanda (inset) said: "I am so honoured to be hosting the IFTA Gala TV Awards.

"I believe that supporting Irish talent and the industry is of the utmost importance."

The awards, held at the DoubleTree By Hilton Hotel, will be broadcast by TV3 on October 25.
