Security lock down on Marlay Park gigs
The organisers of the Marlay Park concerts have doubled the number of security guards and stewards that will police next week's Avicii gig.
Last year, 32 people were arrested and 78 seizures of drugs took place during concerts there.
Melvin Benn of Festival Republic said the organisers had worked extensively with various residents' associations to address their concerns ahead of next week's gig by Swedish DJ Avicii (inset).
"We have been talking to residents since before Christmas," Mr Benn said.
"It has been an on-going process and we have listened to them. Security has increased by 50pc this year."
Extra barriers and fencing will be erected in estates to prevent fans from taking short cuts through residential areas.
The gig is strictly over-18s and Festival Republic are offering refunds to any under-age ticket holders.
"No one under the age of 18 will get in - even if they are attending the concert with their guardians or parents," Benn said. "We are offering refunds for anyone under the age of 18 who may have accidentally bought a ticket."
Ticket holders can apply for a refund until July 29 at 5pm.
Other events scheduled for Marlay Park this year include Longitude festival and Paolo Nutini.
