How celebrity pals like Taylor Swift and Adele are helping Hozier deal with mega-stardom
Stars like Taylor Swift, Adele, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith are giving Hozier advice as the Take Me To Church singer has entered the elite '20-Something Club' of successful young stars.
The Bray native has become a superstar over the past year and his manager, Caroline Downey, says the support of his peers has helped him deal with fame.
"If you look at Ed Sheeran, Adele, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift their work ethic is the same [as Hozier's], they have all worked hard," she told the Herald.
"So when they are crossing each other's paths at various television shows and ceremonies, they can all relate to each other because they are all in the same boat.
"They all help each other and I think that's been really helpful for him.
"They write their own songs and their own music, so they completely understand where each other are coming from," she added.
The 24-year-old has been romantically linked to Taylor Swift, but Caroline insists it's not true.
"I say to him when he's being romantically linked to stars that it's par for the course," she explained.
"You're going to be matched up with everyone you speak to, but they are just friends.
"She has been saying that and he's been saying that, but no one seems to believe it," she continued.
"That picture at the Grammys - which the press all picked up on - it was actually him and Ed Sheeran that went down to that particular party.
"That picture was taken when he was standing with Ed and then they went on with [the band] Haim and Taylor and then met up with Sam Smith later on," she added.
