Eurovision winner itching to catch up with Johnny Logan
the winner of this year's Eurovision, Mans Zelmerlow, is hoping he can reconnect with Johnny Logan on his trip to Ireland this month.
Swedish heart-throb Zelmerlow (29) will kick off his European tour in Dublin, and he is keen to catch up with the Eurovision legend while he is here.
"Johnny Logan would be great to see. I met him once before," he said.
The pair first met in 2011 at a summer show in Sweden that Zelmerlow hosted.
"He's a really great guy. I interviewed him on stage and then I got to talk to him for a while afterwards," he said.
"He's a cool guy. I love when you have an artist who has been in the game for so long and they are still the most down-to-earth people like he is."
Logan (61) remains the only singer to have nabbed the Eurovision crown twice.
Heroes star Zelmerlow will touch down in the capital the day before his September 22 gig in the Olympia theatre, giving him a chance to relax before taking to the stage.
"We're coming the night before so we have a night off in Dublin first, and we'll be able to go out and enjoy the city," he said.
"I'll probably just head to the pub and get some recommendations for where to go from my fans.
"It's going to be so great. I haven't been to Dublin since I was about 10."
It will be a much-needed rest for the singer, who has just finished a Scandinavian tour.
"Ever since Eurovision it's been so, so hectic but amazing at the same time," he told the Herald.
"I'm really enjoying it and I'm so thankful for everything that I'm getting to experience."
Zelmerlow is looking forward to performing here, especially considering our track record at the contest, but he has warned that Sweden is hot on our heels.
"Ireland still have the most wins but we are really close now," he said.
