POP princess Britney Spears is keeping a low profile in Dublin, cancelling a planned after-show party for her two gigs at the O2.

The singer and her entourage were expected to enjoy a bash at the venue following her two shows.

Generally, those who come in on tour request refreshments to be laid on for dancers, promoters and organisers following their shows.

However, Aiken Promotions explained there are no such plans in place for Britney on either night.

Following her much-publicised breakdown, the star has been banned from drinking alcohol and is being kept out of the limelight by her manager father.

Transported

The Hit Me Baby One More Time singer was transported from the airport to her hotel in a luxury blacked-out vehicle.

The last time she came to town, the star's management had pre-arranged a visit to the Guinness brewery with tour promoters and had arranged for her entourage to have a table in a top city nightclub for their wrap party.

But a spokesperson for Aiken Promotions told the Herald they are completely in the dark as to Britney's plans while she is in town.

"This visit is completely different to her last," a representative said. "When she came to Dublin before she wanted to do some sight-seeing.

"But this time they want to make sure the paparazzi don't get wind of her whereabouts so no-one knows what her plans are. We haven't even been told where she's staying."

Ringmaster

Last night, Britney took to the stage in front of 14,000 fans with her eye-popping €18m Circus tour.

The superstar proved she's still the ultimate ringmaster.

Kicking off the show clad in a skimpy red ringmaster's jacket and barely there hot-pants, she strutted and shimmied her way through a fitting open ditty of Circus.

She quickly moved into Piece Of Me and Womaniser and Gimme More before belting out yet another one of her monster hits.

"What's up Dublin? How you feeling tonight?" she shouted, before yet another outfit change.

At one point, the superstar appeared to be sawn into pieces by a magician.
