ATTENTION gentlemen, top model Rebecca Maguire is footloose and fancy free.

The Belfast native and her photographer boyfriend Evan Doherty have gone their separate ways, the Diary can reveal.

The 22-year-old and Evan (inset) have been on and off over the past couple of years, but split for good two weeks ago.

Rebecca told the Diary she believes "everything happens for a reason", but declined to comment further about the break up.

The former Miss Ireland has been enjoying quite a few changes in her life lately. She has just joined the books of Andrea Roche's agency and is also now stepping out as a model manager.

"I'm still signed to my agent Cathy Martin in Belfast and I was thinking about joining a team in Dublin for a while," she said. "Andrea had contacted me recently and was quite keen, so I took time to think about it and was thrilled to go ahead.

"There's a lot of change going on with me personally, it's a really good opportunity and the timing is right."

Tall brunette Rebecca is contemplating an eventual move to Dublin, but for the moment is trekking back and forth from Belfast.

"Hopefully I'll set up camp in Dublin at some point. It's an exciting time, so fingers crossed everything works out.

"I'm going back to Queens for my final year of my pharmacy degree though in September and there'll be another while of late nights driving, but it's something I need to do. I've been juggling modelling and study for a couple of years already," she said.

This weekend, Rebecca will be back stage helping Jane Higgins prepare for the Miss Ireland pageant.

She is looking after Jane and another contestant, Charlotte Holmes, in the 2014 competition and will be touching up make up and brushing hair. "Both of the girls were in the heat that I organised and there's a lot of hype about them," Rebecca said. "Jane is one of the favourites in my view and having been a spectator in Miss Ireland and involved in it myself, I know what the judges like.

"She's popular and blonde too, so I reckon she's definitely the one to watch."

After the contest is over, Rebecca's looking to unwind with a well-deserved holiday.

"I'm hoping to head off with my family for a bit, for a few days of sleep, but I do think I'm due a crazy girls trip too."
