Louis and Cheryl are real pals backstage
HE worked closely with Cheryl Cole on The X Factor and singer Lloyd Daniels has insisted that the judge's on-screen bickering with Louis Walsh is put on for the cameras.
The Welsh popstar, who was a finalist in Simon Cowell's TV show in 2009, told the Herald that Girls Aloud beauty Cheryl and music mogul Louis are the best of pals backstage.
Since returning to the panel of the hit series, Cheryl and Louis have reportedly been sparring during the auditions process.
It has been rumoured that she refused to sit beside her former band manager during filming in Manchester last week.
"They have their moments but at the same time, Louis is in Cheryl's dressing room constantly and they're friends," Lloyd said. "It's all for TV, that's what it is - a reality show with talent thrown in."
Since appearing on The X Factor, Lloyd has tried to establish himself in the business and admitted it can be tough for emerging acts.
"This is not the easiest industry and people think when you do a show like The X Factor that it's just handed to you on a plate, but that's not the case at all," he said. "It involves a lot of work and a lot of effort goes into it."
Lloyd is about to make his musical theatre debut as the male lead in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat this summer.
It sees him follow in the footsteps of Jason Donovan, Stephen Gately and Phillip Schofield who have all previously played the part on stage.
Rehearsals kick off next Monday and the show will arrive at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on August 12 for a two-week run at the venue.
"It's an amazing thing to do, it's a little bit intimidating. I want to put my own stamp on it and I'm excited," he added.
When he and the rest of the cast arrive in Dublin, Lloyd said he'll be asking Louis to come along and see the production.
"I haven't seen him in ages but we got on really well, so I'll ask him."
