'I'm terrified over my Republic of Telly debut,' says comedian Joanne McNally
I'm so excited - but also terrified - for my first episode on Republic of Telly.
I never watch myself back on TV, but now I think I'm going to have to so I can see what I need to change and what terrible mistakes I've made on camera.
It'll be a bit mortifying, but it has to be done.
What's funny is that when I first got the job I thought I'd be doing a few sketches - I didn't realise it was such a big role.
So it was a bit of a shock when I was brought into RTE on my first day to be shown my desk.
But it's such a great job to get, because it's going to put me in people's sitting rooms and, hopefully, give me some exposure.
It's the biggest comedy show in the country and hopefully this will bring me to a wider audience and allow me to gig more outside of Dublin.
I'm doing my first hour-long show in Whelan's in January and then I'm going to Dubai for a week to perform at a comedy festival over there.
That will the be my first time heading off on my own to do stand-up, which is a bit daunting, but it'll be a real coming-of-age gig.
I'm already looking forward to soaking up the sun.
