I'm on the lookout for a new man, says model Aoife Walsh
Line up boys - redhead beauty Aoife Walsh is on the lookout for her Prince Charming.
The former Miss Ireland (25) has been single since April, when she split with her boyfriend. While she's been "keeping her head down" in terms of dating lately, Aoife told the Diary she's now on the look out for a "gentleman" to whisk her off her feet.
"My love life is very quiet at the moment. I've just been focusing on enjoying my summer and working," she said.
"I'm open to any nice guy - a gentleman - that might come my way. We'll see what happens for the rest of the year."
While the Tipperary model surely has men queueing up to ask her out on a date, she has her eye on one particular athlete she would love to get up close and personal with.
"A couple of weeks ago I hurt my tooth and had to have a root canal done. so I was housebound for a few days.
"I really got into the Tour de France, I was obsessed with it," Aoife said.
"So now the guy I'm crushing on is Marcel Kittel (inset), he's a German cyclist and a blonde babe.
"I'm not into cycling at all, but I do enjoy watching it - and the tight shorts," she added.
While her lovelife is at a standstill for now, her work schedule is brisk as she regularly films fashion slots on Ireland AM and is a firm photocall favourite.
"I've been super busy at the moment with work, even though it's the middle of the summer.
"It's a good complaint to have - though I haven't really had a chance to get away on a holiday," said the Andrea Roche model.
Aoife also looks set to put her pageantry knowledge to good use in this year's Miss Ireland Competition.
"I'm judging it this year, so I'm really excited to be on the other side of the table this time. It'll be a different experience," she said.
While Aoife is flat out with her modelling projects, she recently admitted she would also like to branch out into broadcasting.
"I would love to do TV or radio. I did a little cameo appearance last summer in Damo & Ivor and I absolutely loved it," she said.
"A lot of people actually have said to me that I'm well suited to TV so it's something that I would love to get into in the future if the opportunity arose."
