Robert Sheehan lands starring role in major Hollywood movie
Former Love/Hate star Robert Sheehan has landed a role in a new US movie.
The 27-year-old actor, who rose to fame when he starred as gangster Darren on the gritty Dublin drama, has been cast in new flick The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight, directed by Oscar-winner Dustin Lance Black.
The Laois actor will star alongside Hailee Steinfeld as a love interest in the romantic drama.
According to Hollywood website Deadline, the film in based on a novel by Jennifer E Smyth and will follow Hadley, played by Steinfeld, over a 24-hour period.
Sheehan will play a young British man who will be a romantic interest for Hadley when the pair meet on a flight from New York to London.
Robert's co-star Hailee (18) was previously nominated for an Oscar for her role in True Grit.
This latest romantic role will no doubt add to Sheehan's heartthrob image.
The former Misfits actor is proving popular among his acting peers as well as his fans, with Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams recently revealing she was left giggling like a schoolgirl when she crossed paths with him.
The young actress (18), who starred in TV film Cyberbully earlier this year, told Empire magazine that she was completely starstruck when she met the Portlaoise native.
"I met Robert Sheehan on a plane and I did that giggly girl thing and I'm still so angry at myself about it," she said.
Robert, who is now based in LA, has seen his star rise since he left the Love/Hate cast three years ago.
He has acted in several feature films, including 2014 movie The Road Within, which he starred in alongside Zoe Kravitz.
