Caitriona Balfe: Clooney's always messing around on set
He’s one of the world’s most famous actors, but Caitriona Balfe has revealed that she found George Clooney “goofy” when they filmed scenes together.
The Outlander star (35) stars alongside the legendary actor in upcoming flick Money Monster, which is directed by Oscar winner Jodie Foster.
Despite Clooney’s reputation as one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Caitriona revealed that the actor was “very chill” and was a joker behind the scenes.
“You have this preconception that it’s going to be this star,” she said. “He was goofy, constantly making jokes, just a very chill person.
“He gets into work and treats everyone in the same way.”
The Monaghan actress opened up about what it was like to audition for her role in the movie in front of Silence Of The Lambs star Jodie, who is one of her idols.
Despite being nervous about the casting initially, Caitriona admitted she was relieved when she finally came face to face with the actress-turned-director.
“You have in your head everything she’s done and all the incredible things she has achieved. I was brought up watching her, looking up to her,” she said. “But once you’re actually in the room with her, the pressure of knowing all that stuff leaves you a bit because she’s incredibly giving.
“We weren’t having a heart to heart but she gave me a lot of work advice and how to approach my character,” she said.
