Actress Charlize Theron led a star-studded line-up at the Mad Max: Fury Road premiere in Cannes last night.

But the hundreds of  photographers there were more interested in taking pictures of her and boyfriend Sean Penn.

Charlize, who stars in the new movie with Tom Hardy, showed off her amazing curves in a tight strapless yellow dress as she walked hand in hand with partner Penn.

Sean didn’t exactly beam on the red carpet, but he was an absolute gentleman.

When approached by French television, he didn’t say a word, just pointing to Theron. It was her night.

He stayed out of the spotlight completely. Or as much as Sean Penn can stay out of the spotlight at the Cannes Film Festival.

The couple were joined at the premiere by a whole host of stars with everyone from Naomi Watts and  Cara Delevingne to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Michelle Rodrigues making glamorous appearances.

None of the stars were rushing to take selfies from the red carpet, however, as festival director Thierry Fremaux has laid down the law and made his feelings well and truly known.

“You never look as ugly as you do in a selfie,” Fremaux said when explaining the “ban” to The Hollywood Reporter, calling it “ridiculous and grotesque”.
