She’s a self-confessed Twitter-holic but Elaine Crowley has admitted to going cold turkey on social media.

The Midday host may be a popular online presence but she told the Diary how she took a holiday from both work and all things online recently.

“I was away for a few days in the UK a while ago and I went on a total social media ban. It was just great,” she said.

“I was just fed up with all of it – it was nice to get a break.”

Cruel

One of the things the glamorous brunette said she was fed up with was cruel taunts from online trolls –

especially what happened to model-turned-healthy eating guru Rosanna Davison and the ‘gluten gate’ controversy.

“I think there’s a lot of people just jumping on the bandwagon now and it’s not nice,” Elaine said.

“If you ask me, the way she was treated was appalling. If she wasn’t as beautiful or as well known as she is, no one would have batted an eyelid.”
